As we mentioned earlier this afternoon, the Montreal Canadiens have mutually agreed to terminate the contract of young defenseman Nicolas Beaudin. Acquired last year from the Chicago Blackhawks, the 27th overall pick in the 2018 draft was unhappy with his playing time with the Laval Rocket, having lost his spot with the arrival of Logan Mailloux.
However, despite limited playing time, the Quebecer demonstrated truly impressive offensive skills, accumulating a total of 2 goals and 29 assists (31 points) in his 55 games played with the CH's farm team in the American League.
However, according to information reported by the voice of the Laval Rocket, Anthony Marcotte, the defenseman has already found a new team, as he will finish the 2023-2024 campaign in Europe. Indeed, Nicolas Beaudin will join the Prague team in the Czech elite league.
It will be interesting to see if the Chateauguay native can take advantage of this opportunity to prove that he indeed belongs in the NHL. If Beaudin is able to dominate with his new team, he could very well receive a two-way offer for the next season.
