As we mentioned yesterday, the Montreal Canadiens placed defenseman Nicolas Beaudin on unconditional NHL waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.
This was a decision made in mutual agreement with him and the team's management.
It's Now Official
The verdict has just come in for the 24-year-old Quebecer; his contract is now definitively terminated with the Canadiens organization, as he was ultimately not claimed.
He is now a free agent, free to sign wherever he wishes.
It's still a sad outcome for this player who had performed well since his acquisition last year. He had accumulated 25 points in 39 games with the Rocket, before being finally used as an extra defenseman this season, where he earned six points in 16 games.
The one who was a first-round pick in 2018 deserves a real chance with a new organization and we wish him the best for the future.
