The Calgary Flames surprised everyone yesterday by placing forward Adam Ruzicka on waivers.

A big center at 6 feet 4 inches and 216 pounds, he has played 114 NHL games, scoring 14 goals and 40 points along the way.
Given his size, position, and the team's need for a player to lead the fourth line, many observers thought he would be a candidate to watch for the Canadiens.
It was almost certain that his profile would draw attention across the league, and we now have a verdict.
Adam Ruzicka has been claimed by the Arizona Coyotes.
It has just been confirmed that the Coyotes organization has acquired the services of the 24-year-old Slovakian, officially confirming that Kent Hughes decided to pass on this player, much to the disappointment of many.
The Coyotes have claimed Adam Ruzicka on waivers. The #CH had priority over Arizona, so they did not place a 'claim' on Ruzicka. Wow!
