We've just learned that former Montreal Canadiens goaltender, Jaroslav Halak, is making his return to the NHL.
He has agreed to a professional tryout contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.
"Goaltender Jaroslav Halak is joining the Hurricanes as a free agent. Frederik Andersen is dealing with a medical issue and is undergoing evaluations. An update will be provided when available, but no further comments will be made until then."

It's quite unusual to see such a signing take place mid-season, but the team appears to be grappling with issues in the net.
We hope he will be able to establish himself officially with Carolina for the season.
