The Montréal Canadiens have made the decision to put defenceman Nicolas Beaudin on unconditional waivers with the intention of terminating his contract.
Beaudin, who was obtained by the Canadiens two years ago through a trade involving Cam Hillis and the Chicago Blackhawks, had been initially chosen as the 27th overall pick in the 2018 entry draft.
This development comes as a surprise, given Beaudin's notable performance and potential displayed while playing for Laval in the AHL.
