As you know, star forward Cole Caufield is going through a rather difficult offensive period at the moment, having scored only one goal in his last twelve games. However, a particular reason could explain his troubles, and it's really worrying for the Canadiens.
Indeed, former Tricolore scout Grant McCagg highlighted two excerpts during the game against the Ducks, suspecting that the CH's sharpshooter might be bothered by his shoulder injury, which kept him out of the game for several months last season.
As we can see in the video below, the 22-year-old forward seemed to want to avoid contact at all costs, even going as far as to clear the puck into the opposing territory instead of making a play. Obviously, this doesn't necessarily mean that his old injury has resurfaced, but it's still worrying.
For sure, we strongly hope that his shoulder injury is 100% healed and that Cole Caufield is just going through a tougher phase. We will certainly have a better idea of his health status today during the game against the Sharks.
