There's action with the Montreal Canadiens today, as both good and bad news loom on the horizon.

On the more worrying side, given that the CH recalled forward Mitchell Stephens from the Laval Rocket yesterday, it seems to confirm the worst for Alex Newhook. It has just been announced that the forward will be out for a duration of 10 to 12 weeks.
However, aside from this unfortunate news, there's very good news, as David Savard was back on the ice, as reported by Renaud Lavoie.
The veteran defenseman trained before the rest of the team, which is a very good sign for a return to play in the coming days. Fingers are crossed that he can see action during the next week.
Of course, his grand return will force the management to make tough decisions, as the young Jayden Struble has been playing very well since his call-up. He has been one of the most stable defensemen of the defensive brigade, in the absence of Savard, Jordan Harris, and Arber Xhekaj, despite being inexperienced in the NHL.
A return to Laval would be extremely beneficial for Jean-François Houle's team, which would regain its best defenseman, but from a merit standpoint, Struble has done nothing to deserve being sent back to the AHL.
This will be an interesting case to follow.
