Just after the crushing 5-1 defeat to the Montreal Canadiens, the Seattle Kraken delivered a real slap in the face to forward Shane Wright.

Although the NHL's most recent expansion team will clearly not make the playoffs this season, it opted to recall forwards Ryan Winterton and Logan Morrison from its AHL affiliate.

This decision might be quite difficult for the 4th overall pick in 2022 to swallow, who, despite his good performances with the Firebirds in the AHL, seems unable to get an opportunity to play a few games in the NHL.
After all, considering that the Kraken's season is virtually over and that the Firebirds are assured of finishing first in the Pacific Division, why not offer Shane Wright the chance to play some games with the main club before returning to play in the American League playoffs?
Moreover, the forward is having a very good season with a tally of 41 points in 53 games. He would have clearly deserved a little reward from his general manager.
It must be really making him wonder if he will get an opportunity to play with the Seattle Kraken in the near future, having only played 11 games (2 points) in the NHL since his draft. Throughout the year, several forwards have been recalled while Shane Wright had to be patient.
Certainly, this must be a difficult situation to handle, especially when he sees Juraj Slafkovsky enjoying a lot of success with the Montreal Canadiens. Bet that the Tricolore's fans are quite happy with the selection made by Kent Hughes on July 7, 2022, even if the Slovak forward was far from being the crowd's favorite at that time.
Undoubtedly, the emergence of Juraj Slafkovsky is truly encouraging, and everything suggests that the Montreal Canadiens made the right decision in making him their first pick in the 2022 draft class. The 19-year-old is currently on a seven-game streak with at least one point, boasting an impressive total of 39 points in 70 games.
Do you think reaching the 50-point mark is achievable for Slaf this year?
