Filip Mesar traded to the Winnipeg Jets?
Rutger McGroarty, a prospect for the Winnipeg Jets, is at the center of trade rumors.
He reportedly has disputes with the Manitoba organization, leading General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff to actively shop him. McGroarty, a first-round pick in 2022, missed the team's development camp, casting doubt on his future.
Currently back at university, he appears open to playing in the NHL under certain conditions.
Montreal, among other teams, is reportedly interested in his services.
A Slovakian media outlet reports that Kent Hughes offered Filip Mesar, a first-round pick, and either Justin Barron or Jordan Harris in exchange for McGroarty.
However, Winnipeg has reportedly rejected these proposals so far.
Interest in McGroarty remains strong, and Hughes may need to improve his offer to convince the talented 6-foot-1 winger to join the Canadiens.
Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
