Shane Wright's journey has not been an easy one in recent years. He was long seen as the uncontested first overall pick in his draft year, but when it came to that stage, he was unfortunately not selected among the top three.
However, even since his selection, troubles continue for the young man who has still not managed to break into the team's lineup. While he should technically still be playing in juniors, he obtained special permission to play in the AHL.
Many thought it was now confirmed and that he would probably stay in Seattle for the rest of the season. However, three games later, with no points to his name and a -1 differential, the 19-year-old forward has just been demoted to the American League.
