Shane Wright Hit With Massive Demotion After Terrible Week
Shane Wright's journey has not been an easy one in recent years. He was long seen as the uncontested first overall pick in his draft year, but when it came to that stage, he was unfortunately not selected among the top three.
It was finally at the 4th pick, with the Seattle Kraken, that Wright was chosen.
However, even since his selection, troubles continue for the young man who has still not managed to break into the team's lineup. While he should technically still be playing in juniors, he obtained special permission to play in the AHL.
After an interesting start to the season with four goals and six points in seven games, Wright received the much-awaited call-up with the Kraken.
Many thought it was now confirmed and that he would probably stay in Seattle for the rest of the season. However, three games later, with no points to his name and a -1 differential, the 19-year-old forward has just been demoted to the American League.
Let's just say this is certainly a slap in the face for Wright. He will need to understand that talent alone is not enough if one does not work hard in every NHL game.
