Doug Armstrong, President of Hockey Operations and General Manager of the St. Louis Blues, announced today that Torey Krug has been diagnosed with pre-arthritic changes in his left ankle, a complication stemming from a previous fracture.
Krug will undergo non-surgical rehabilitation over the next 6-8 weeks, followed by a reassessment to determine if surgery will be necessary. If surgery is required, he could miss the entire 2024-25 season.
At 33 years old, Krug joined the Blues as a free agent on October 9, 2020. Last season, hailing from Livonia, Michigan, he played 77 regular-season games, tallying 39 points (four goals, 35 assists) and serving 32 penalty minutes.
In his four seasons with the Blues, he has accumulated 146 points (22 goals, 124 assists) and 154 penalty minutes in 255 games. Throughout his career, which includes stints with Boston and St. Louis, Krug has amassed 483 points (89 goals, 394 assists) and 374 penalty minutes in 778 regular-season games.
