Jeff Gorton, the Vice President of Hockey Operations for the Montreal Canadiens, confirmed in a recent press conference that forward Jesse Ylonen will not be qualified.
Therefore, unless he signs as an unrestricted free agent by July 1st without compensation, he will not return to the Montreal Canadiens in 2024.
The Canadiens' 35th overall pick in 2018, Ylonen collected eight points in 59 games last season.
During the 2022-23 season with the Laval Rocket, he scored 32 points in 39 games.
