Kent Hughes has yet to make major transactions during the offseason, as he has accustomed us to since his debut with the Montreal Canadiens.

Additionally, the four forwards recently linked persistently to the Montreal organization - Martin Necas, Trevor Zegras, Rutger McGroarty, and Patrik Laine - all remain available.
During his recent appearance on "The Sick Podcast With Tony Marinaro," Pierre McGuire identified the forward that Kent Hughes should target in a potential trade.
According to McGuire, Martin Necas would be the most suitable addition for the Canadiens' current needs due to his established status in the top 6 and reputation for offensive production.
"Martin Necas is a player already established in the NHL and he's a pure point producer. He has incredible speed and he's certainly a second-line player, not a first-line player, but he's an elite second-line player. Rutger McGroarty is more of a 'in your face' type and Zegras is a crafty player, but if he's not scoring, he's not helping you win at all." - Pierre McGuire on Sick Podcast
