The well-informed Nicolas Cloutier from TVA Sports reports that the Canadiens have ended their relationship with one of their prospects.
Rhett Pitlick, selected in the 5th round of the 2019 NHL Draft, is no longer a member of the organization.
According to the journalist, Pitlick's best NCAA season did not convince the Canadiens' management to keep him:
«Rhett, brother of former Canadiens forward Rem, has just concluded his best season in the NCAA, but it evidently did not sway the management given the number of forward prospects. A 5th-round pick in 2019.
When Timmins and Shane Churla drafted Rhett Pitlick, they hoped that, in the best-case scenario, he might develop into a player with a style similar to Jake Guentzel.
