Paul Byron is carving out his place in the Canadiens' organization after hanging up his skates. The former player has assisted several prospects with the Laval Rocket this season.

According to some reports, Paul Byron might even transition to coaching with the farm team next season.
In an interview with Marc-Antoine Godin on Radio-Canada, the former member of the Canadiens also described the first professional season of top defensive prospect Logan Mailloux.
Byron spoke highly of the young defenseman, even going so far as to suggest that the Canadiens may have struck gold with their selection in 2021.
"He respects the older guys, but he wants to beat them," explains Byron. "I think that's the mentality to have. Yes, you're teammates, but every practice, every drill, every repetition, you're competing against each other. And the more you improve in that, the easier the game becomes. If you do enough good things, you'll gain confidence. And that confidence will grow with each repetition, because the more you improve, the more dominant you feel. If this player becomes what we think he can become, he could be the kind of player capable of accelerating a rebuild." - Paul Byron

This is interesting and very encouraging for his development in the coming years. After finishing the season in Montreal in the very last game, Mailloux hopes to start the season in the NHL.
