Juraj Slafkovsky had a tremendous season on all fronts. Not only in terms of his personal development but also in the number of games played. Slaf played every single game for his team this year.
As you probably know, the Montreal Canadiens' first pick in the 2022 NHL Draft will represent his country, Slovakia, in the upcoming World Hockey Championship.
However, the forward had to stay in Montreal a bit longer than anticipated for a specific reason. This is what a hockey journalist covering Slovakia reports.
"Juraj Slafkovsky is expected to join the Slovak National Team later than anticipated. He needs to undergo some medical procedures in Montreal."
The reasons aren't specified, but one can presume they are minor interventions.
We've seen Juraj Slafkovsky wearing a knee brace towards the end of the season. Nonetheless, he played all 82 games for the Canadiens this season.
He made remarkable progress with 20 goals and 50 points. We'll see how Slaf performs at the World Championship before commenting on his physical condition.
