Carey Price will be honored for his involvement with Indigenous youth since the beginning of his career. He will receive an honorary degree and a doctorate in law from UNBC.
The University of Northern British Columbia wishes to pay tribute to the Montreal Canadiens goaltender for his entire career on the ice, as well as for everything he has done to inspire Indigenous youth and philanthropy in this Canadian province.
"In sharing my journey and experience with the youth of Anahim Lake and the rest of Canada, I hope to shed light on the many possibilities and different paths available to them.
Receiving this honorary doctorate in law from UNBC is an unexpected opportunity that has come my way and an example of the enrichment that comes from being involved in the community." - Carey Price
The Canadiens goaltender is an idol for these youth and has repeatedly invested in various causes or events related to these communities and reserves.
