Patrik Laine's arrival with the Canadiens seems to have brought a wave of optimism among fans and some experts.

They even go as far as to suggest that the Canadiens could make the playoffs. In an interview with Tony Marinaro, Kent Hughes emphasized that it wouldn't be considered a failure if the Canadiens missed the playoffs.

However, former NHL player Steve Bégin is envisioning even bigger things for the Montreal team for the upcoming season.

The ex-Canadiens player believes that Martin St-Louis's squad will make the playoffs and might even surprise across the NHL.

According to him, Laine's arrival and Kirby Dach's return to health will make a significant difference. Steve Bégin also thinks that Samuel Montembeault could become a key asset in goal.
