Revelation about David Reinbacher and it's very concerning for the Canadiens

The defenseman finished the season with the Laval Rocket after spending a year in Switzerland. He showed promise, but it also became clear that he has areas to work on before making the jump to the NHL.

Development for defensemen generally takes longer, so there's no need to panic just yet. Reinbacher has significant potential.

However, Craig Button of TSN, on the Sick Podcast with Tony Marinaro, mentioned that the Austrian defenseman still has a lot to improve. According to him, Reinbacher is far from being ready for NHL level.

These comments are somewhat concerning. Button even said that Reinbacher wouldn't have been his choice if he had been in the Canadiens' position.

While Button's opinions can be hit or miss, we hope Reinbacher develops quickly.

It's unusual for a 5th overall pick to spend 2, 3, or 4 years in the AHL or Europe.
