Martin Necas trade: Things are heating up between the Canadiens and Hurricanes
The Carolina Hurricanes are in advanced discussions to trade forward Martin Necas, according to David Pagnotta of *The Fourth Period*.
The Nashville Predators, Seattle Kraken, and Montreal Canadiens are reportedly interested in the 25-year-old Czech player, who is dissatisfied with his role in Carolina and whose salary demands are not aligning with the team's expectations.
Necas, who could become a restricted free agent on July 1, has been the subject of numerous rumors for several weeks.
The Hurricanes are seeking a trade that strengthens their team immediately, rather than accumulating prospects or draft picks.
Necas, selected 12th overall in the 2017 draft, had an outstanding 2022-2023 season with 71 points in 82 games.
However, his production dipped slightly last season, recording 24 goals and 29 assists in 77 games.
