Major announcement regarding Jean-François Houle of the Rocket
Jean-François Houle, head coach of the Laval Rocket, seemed close to leaving in recent weeks, as he was not the choice of Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.
However, he is now well-positioned to stay in his role next season. Despite rumors, particularly involving Sylvain Favreau, Houle may continue to lead the team.
According to Maxime Truman, negotiations between Houle and the Rocket are very advanced, and his return for the 2024-25 season could be confirmed soon.
This is an important decision for the development of young players in the Montreal Canadiens' farm team.
Houle, who succeeded Joël Bouchard, has contributed to the development of the Rocket's prospects.
However, assistant coach Kelly Buchberger will not return, and Paul Byron is expected to replace him. Byron, well-liked by the players, played for the Canadiens from 2015 to 2022. An official announcement on these changes is expected soon.
