Josh Anderson had a disastrous season, to say the least, with the Canadiens last season. Perhaps his days are already numbered.

He had every opportunity to prove himself, and many fans would have liked to see Martin St-Louis bench him for a few games to eat popcorn.
The Montreal Canadiens surprised some by sending Joel Armia to the AHL and placing him on waivers during the 2023 training camp.
The same fate could await Josh Anderson. Veteran journalist from 'The Montreal Gazette' Stu Cowan recently discussed this in a column.
Anderson only managed 9 goals and 20 points in 78 games.
"Martin St-Louis gave Josh Anderson every chance to regain his form last season, but the 30-year-old forward seemed lost at times. When asked about Anderson's struggles last season, St-Louis said, 'If you give up on yourself, I'm going to give up.'"

Martin St-Louis didn't believe Anderson had given up, but at some point, the head coach will have to give up on Josh Anderson next season if he continues to struggle and if other forwards outperform him. We saw the positive impact of Joel Armia's stint with the Laval Rocket (AHL) last season. It wouldn't be surprising to see management do the same with Anderson in 2024-2025. - Stu Cowan
