Heading to Columbus for Christian Dvorak?
The name Patrik Laine is increasingly being linked to the Montreal Canadiens for a potential trade.
Laine, a 6-foot-5 winger with immense potential, could significantly strengthen the team, especially on the power play.
He is young, and acquiring him would cost less than getting players like Martin Necas or Trevor Zegras.
A trade offer involving Laine and draft picks has been proposed to the Canadiens. His relatively low value, due to his $8.7 million per year contract for another two seasons, could allow the Canadiens to secure the 4th overall pick in the draft.
An interesting alternative, suggested by journalist Arpon Basu, would be to include Christian Dvorak in the trade to lighten Laine's contract burden.
Journalists Arpon Basu and Marc Antoine Godin believe that Laine would be a valuable addition to the team.
