The 7th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft never managed to secure a spot with a Bettman circuit team. After an unsuccessful stint with the Rangers, Andersson failed to impress with the Kings and the Canadiens.
It was Jeff Gorton, then with the Rangers, who convinced the New York franchise to draft him so high in 2017. Now a player in the American League, Andersson had a good campaign with the Rocket last year.
Lias Andersson is heading to play in a league with a strong reputation. Swiss players are known to be well treated, well paid, and they compete in one of Europe's top 5 professional leagues.
