Kent Hughes, the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens, will have to make important decisions this summer regarding five prospects whose rights are expiring.
Among the prospects involved, only Jared Davidson has a realistic chance of signing a contract with the Canadiens. The other players, Blake Biondi, Cedrick Guindon, Petteri Nurmi, and Miguel Tourigny, could be released.
Additionally, the Canadiens have 24 selections in the next two drafts, including 12 in the first three rounds. This means the team must manage its contracts wisely to welcome new talent while respecting constraints.
