The story of Logan Mailloux, the prospect who chose not to participate in the 2021 NHL draft due to criminal accusations, resurfaces thanks to revelations from Éric Hoziel.

While Mailloux had previously publicly stated that he needed to work on himself before being drafted, Hoziel reports a different version. In private conversations with teams, Mailloux allegedly claimed that the girl involved wanted revenge on him.
"Publicly, Mailloux was saying at the time that he had work to do on himself before he could be drafted [in 2021]. But this week, in the latest episode of the Process podcast, Éric Hoziel shed a different light.

According to what he reported, in private conversations with teams, Mailloux didn't have exactly the same discourse. In fact, he rather stated that 'the girl wanted to get back at him' in that situation.

However, thanks to his own efforts and the support of figures such as Chantal Machabée and France Margaret Bélanger, Mailloux has made significant progress as a person. This development is commendable, and he can be proud of it.
Mailloux, selected 31st overall in 2021, is a 21-year-old right-handed defenseman who had a solid season with the Laval Rocket, tallying 47 points in 72 AHL games. His potential was also noted in his lone game with the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL.
