The Montreal Canadiens are considering all scenarios for the NHL draft and offseason. An intriguing proposal has been raised involving young prospect David Reinbacher.

If the defenseman were available at this year's annual draft in 2024, where would he rank? Would he truly be the first defenseman chosen? Asking the question might be answering it.
Simon "Snake" Boisvert discussed this during a recent segment on BPM Sports radio, expressing some uncertainty about Reinbacher's position compared to other blue line prospects:
"In my opinion, Artyom Levshunov would definitely go before David Reinbacher if he were eligible this year. As for the others, it's a matter of preference. For me, I would take Levshunov before Reinbacher; I wouldn't take Anton Silayev before Reinbacher, I wouldn't take Zayne Parekh before Reinbacher, I'd think twice about Zeev Buium, and I'm not sure about Sam Dickinson. So, I would say Levshunov is the only one in my mind who is truly better than Reinbacher." - Simon "Snake" Boisvert

This is as intriguing for the Canadiens as it is for Reinbacher's future, according to this former QMJHL scout.
