According to David Pagnotta, Kent Hughes, GM of the Montreal Canadiens, reportedly withdrew defenseman Mattias Norlinder from the trade market without explanation.
Hughes allegedly informed other NHL GMs that Norlinder, 24 years old, was not available for a transaction. Despite Norlinder's absence since 2021-2022 and his loss of place in the Rocket de Laval team, his unavailability on the market is surprising.
Some speculate that Hughes might increase Norlinder's value before a potential trade, while others believe the GM still believes in his potential for the team's future, although it seems unlikely at this stage of his career.
