Massive Reinforcement Coming Sooner than Expected for the Canadiens
There's excellent news on the horizon for the Montreal Canadiens as a priceless reinforcement is set to join the team's lineup for Saturday's game against the St. Louis Blues.
Indeed, Christian Dvorak might officially make his grand return with the Habs, having spent the first month of the schedule on the long-term injured list.
I used the word "priceless" for Dvorak's return for a specific reason, and that is the fact that his presence should significantly help many players find a more suitable spot for them and balance the lines.
With Dvorak's return, Martin St-Louis can shift Alex Newhook to the wing and use Sean Monahan on the second line, who is currently on fire. He seems ready to play a more significant role within the team, including kick-starting the duo of Newhook and Juraj Slafkovsky.
Josh Anderson has had a terrible start to the season, recording no goals and just one point in 10 games. He could greatly benefit from pairing with two hard-working players who play a straightforward north-south style like Brendan Gallagher and Dvorak.
Here's a very interesting lineup proposal:
As suggested by the excellent Marc-Olivier Beaudoin, why not try Tanner Pearson on the first line? He's solid and efficient, plays a complete game, and pays the price in the offensive zone. He seems to be the perfect replacement for Rafael Harvey-Pinard, who was injured in the previous game.
Although there hasn't been a confirmation about Dvorak's return to play at this time, it seems to be just a formality since he has been practicing regularly with the team for over a week.
However, he had to wait until November 4th to officially return to play due to the 24-day and 10-game absence rule of the LTIR.
