Martin St-Louis Critiques Arber Xhekaj After Rough Game

After suffering a defeat at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Martin St-Louis did not beat around the bush in criticizing young defenseman Arber Xhekaj.

Indeed, during his post-game press conference, the head coach of the Canadiens let his dissatisfaction be known regarding the action taken by number 72 at the end of the third period, where he delivered a violent punch to Tanner Jeannot during a stoppage in play.

It must be admitted that Xhekaj greatly lacked judgment on this play, particularly since the Canadiens had just managed to score two quick goals, possibly giving themselves a chance to get back into the game.

Unfortunately, this penalty completely killed Montreal's momentum, thereby allowing the visitors to run away with the victory.

"I did not like the penalty taken by Xhekaj. We had the momentum, having just scored two quick goals, and it was down to a two-goal game. If you score another, anything can happen. We don't give ourselves a chance by taking penalties like that." - Martin St-Louis

We love to see Arber Xhekaj defend his teammates. However, he must learn to better choose his moments so as not to impair the team's success.
