In the last few minutes, there has been a rather surprising announcement from the Edmonton Oilers. The 28-year-old forward, Adam Erne, has been placed on waivers, making him now available for free to the other 31 teams in the NHL.
Selected 33rd overall in 2013, Adam Erne has played over 360 NHL games, accumulating a total of 40 goals and 49 assists. There is no doubt that he could represent a very interesting option for general managers looking to improve their fourth line.
Moreover, the 6'1" forward weighing nearly 215 pounds has a salary of only $775,000, which could facilitate his integration under the salary cap of a Bettman circuit team.
It should be noted that according to some sources, the Oilers have put the forward on waivers in order to give Quebecer, Raphaël Lavoie, a chance to establish himself in the NHL.
