According to whispers, Don Waddell has left the Hurricanes to join the Blue Jackets in a role that could resemble that of a president overseeing hockey operations. He may handle the business and administrative side, but the Jackets are still on the lookout for their future general manager.
Elliotte Friedman on the "32 Thoughts" podcast, as well as Nick Kypreos, have discussed the possibility that Columbus may still be interested in Jeff Gorton. This isn't the first time the name of the Canadiens' vice president of hockey operations has been linked to the Jackets.
Ken Holland is also part of this shortlist. Although it would be surprising to see Gorton leave the Canadiens when he clearly hasn't completed his work, it's a situation to keep a close eye on for the Canadiens' circle.
