Controversy Surrounding Adam Fantilli in Columbus: Juraj Slafkovsky's Development Can Be Used as a Sample for His Development
As the saying goes that the grass is never greener on the other side, we have proof of this situation.
Currently in Columbus, there is a controversy brewing involving the promising Adam Fantilli.
The management of the use of the most recent third overall pick in the draft is being severely criticized publicly, as the young man is downright dominant during the last few games.
Fantilli has an impressive total of four goals and six points in his last five starts, all of which are points accumulated at 5 on 5. In addition, with the 19-year-old forward on the ice, the Blue Jackets are 6 to 3 in terms of goals scored, demonstrating dominance of his line that is piloted by himself.
The problem with all this? It's that his head coach continues to use him sporadically, as he totaled 11 minutes and 56 seconds in his last game. This was the third worst total on his team. He plays as much as a 4th line player despite his impressive offensive performance recently.
As some observers point out, the organization is seriously hindering the young player in his first professional campaign.
"11 minutes and 56 seconds of ice time tonight.
They are actively trying to destroy their most talented player, luckily Fantilli is a rockstar."
Although we have heard criticisms a few times about the use of Juraj Slafkovsky since his debut in Montreal, we are far from the treatment that Fantilli is undergoing.
And the worst part of all this is that the number 11 of the Jackets manages to be productive and accumulate points. In Montreal, this kind of rookie management would have become a serious problem.
It must also be said that it is quite a contrast with Connor Bedard and Leo Carlsson, who are used as leading players by their respective teams.
