The honeymoon period between the Colorado Avalanche and Quebec-born forward Jonathan Drouin has officially ended.

While many predicted that the former Tricolore attacker could possibly have his best season ever alongside Nathan MacKinnon, the opposite is happening currently.
Indeed, having been benched last week, Jonathan Drouin reclaimed his spot on the first unit with his good friend, Nathan MacKinnon, and Mikko Rantanen against the Vegas Golden Knights last Sunday night.
However, the number 27 had a disastrous evening, finishing the game with a -3 differential and only 12 minutes and 45 seconds of playtime. Not helping matters, the left winger from Sainte-Agathe was unable to get on the score sheet in a 6-3 victory against the Devils on Tuesday night.
After 10 games, Jonathan Drouin only had a single assist, having been scoreless in the previous nine matches.
These poor performances forced Jared Bednar, head coach of the Colorado Avalanche, to take action. Consequently, for the second time this season, the Quebec forward was scratched from the lineup, watching the game against the Seattle Kraken from the stands.
"Jonathan Drouin is absent from the warm-up period. He will therefore be scratched for tonight's game." - Peter Baugh

Yikes! This is certainly not the start to the season Drouin had hoped for, as he wished to revive his career by proving he could still be a significant asset for an NHL team.
We are sincerely hoping he can quickly find his offensive groove again!
