A very surprising announcement was made in Chicago yesterday before the game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson mentioned that forward Corey Perry would be scratched from the lineup.

Although this decision is odd, given that the former Montreal Canadien has had an excellent start to the season with 9 points in 16 games, some journalists speculated that the veteran might be dealing with a minor injury.
However, when questioned about Perry's absence during his post-game press conference, Luke Richardson surprised everyone by mentioning that he was indeed 100% healthy and that it was an "organizational decision."
"Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson said Corey Perry was a 'healthy scratch' tonight. It was an organization's decision." - Charlie Roumeliotis

Wow! This was totally unexpected!
Does this mean Corey Perry is no longer in the plans of the organization? Could the former Canadiens forward be involved in a potential trade?
Certainly, this situation raises a lot of questions, especially since number 94 was practicing on the first power play unit just 24 hours earlier. Some journalists have even suggested the possibility that he was left out to stay healthy, thus allowing the management to trade him.
This is a situation to watch closely, but don't be surprised if the former CH player changes addresses again in the coming days.
