The Calgary Flames have announced that they traded forward Andrew Mangiapane to the Washington Capitals in exchange for a 2025 second-round draft pick.

Mangiapane, 28, scored 14 goals and 26 assists, totaling 40 points in 75 games last season with Calgary.
Drafted by the Flames in the sixth round of the 2015 NHL Draft, Mangiapane has spent his entire career with the team, accumulating 109 goals and 106 assists in 417 games.
The 2025 draft pick that the Flames received originally belonged to the Colorado Avalanche and was acquired by Washington in a trade involving Lars Eller.
Mangiapane, who has a no-trade clause in his contract, is currently in the final year of his three-year deal, worth $5.8 million for the 2024-2025 season.
