As you may already know, the National Hockey League has recently taken a stance to prohibit all social cause initiatives within its circuit.
Compared to previous seasons, NHL players are now strictly forbidden from supporting any cause during the warm-up period.
Despite this ban, some players have already decided to defy the NHL at the risk of being sanctioned, as we have recently seen with Marc-André Fleury and his special mask for First Nations, as well as defenseman Travis Dermott.
Now, Boston Bruins forward Jake Debrusk has also made a strong statement against the league and Gary Bettman.
Following in the footsteps of his teammate James Van Riemsdyk, the two Boston players decided to wear the rainbow ribbon in support of the LGBTQ community during the warm-up period.
This was part of the "Hockey Is For Everyone" night at the TD Garden, and Debrusk and JVR's initiative was greatly acclaimed on social media.
