As you know, the Montreal Canadiens had until 3 PM today to send players to the Laval Rocket so that they would be eligible to join the CH's farm team for a possible participation in the playoffs.

In the last few minutes, the organization has officially confirmed that forward Joshua Roy and defenseman Jayden Struble were involved in a paper transaction to allow them to return to Laval.
"The Canadiens have made paper transactions with Joshua Roy and Jayden Struble so that they are eligible to be returned to Laval." - Montreal Canadiens

This is great news for Jean-François Houle's men, who will be able to count on some frankly interesting reinforcements if the team qualifies for the spring dance.
However, have no fear, the two rookies will remain with the Canadiens and will be in uniform for the match against the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow night. This procedure only aims to preserve their eligibility to play in the American League until the end of the 2023-2024 year.
20-year-old Joshua Roy has recorded three goals and five assists (eight points) in 18 games with the Tricolore this season. As for Jayden Struble, the second-round pick in 2019 has accumulated seven points in 41 games.
