Former Rocket Forced to Leave Social Media After Threats
Tragically, a major accident occurred in the hockey world over the weekend. Former Pittsburgh Penguins player, Adam Johnson, sadly passed away after being struck by a skate blade during a game in England.
Though it was an accidental incident, former Laval Rocket defenseman Matt Petgrave is currently at the center of a significant controversy on social media. The 31-year-old veteran has received numerous hateful messages, including several threats, with some individuals demanding his immediate incarceration.
Out of respect for the family and loved ones of Adam Johnson, we do not wish to share images of the incident. However, there are many people accusing the defenseman (Matt Petgrave) of deliberately striking his opponent with his skate.
It's truly saddening to see that so many accusations are being levied against Matt Petgrave following this tragedy, especially when he must be going through incredibly tough times right now.
Whether his action was intentional (which would be highly surprising) or not, Petgrave must surely be feeling profound distress. It's simply needless to berate him on social media, especially when he will soon have to face the consequences, be they psychological or legal.
