In recent days, there has been an escalation of rumors surrounding a possible trade involving Jake Allen.
It has been reported that general managers contacted the Canadiens to discuss the goaltending situation before the trade freeze period begins on December 20th.
Pierre LeBrun shared his comments on these discussions, pointing out that there is no trade in sight at the moment. However, he noted an interesting point: the interested teams might come back after December 28th, the date when the trade freeze ends.
"Montreal has received some calls from teams in recent days," he said on TSN. "These teams should come back [soon], but that doesn't necessarily mean a trade is imminent." - Pierre LeBrun
In a recent article by TVA Sports, LeBrun also mentioned two teams currently involved in the case concerning the Canadiens' number 34.
"I believe the Hurricanes are among the teams that have had discussions with the CH recently. The Devils, for their part, have had internal discussions about Allen. Martin Brodeur knows him well since he spent time with him in St. Louis." - Pierre LeBrun
This will be a file to watch closely in the coming weeks.
