Friedman Officially Links Canadiens Player to the LA Kings

Elliotte Friedman, in his "32 Thoughts" podcast, reported that a trade involving Jake Allen and the Edmonton Oilers was nearly finalized a few weeks ago.

Friedman confirmed that the trade was on the verge of being announced at one point. However, an unexpected turn of events ultimately led to the collapse of the deal between the two teams.

Friedman, a Sportsnet analyst known for his reliable sources throughout the NHL and regular communication with player agents, shared important information regarding the Los Angeles Kings. According to circulating reports, Kings General Manager Rob Blake is actively seeking to add a goaltender to his roster.

Friedman believes that Jake Allen is a potential target for the Kings, as he has been offered by Kent Hughes to various teams.

It remains to be seen if the Kings will make an offer that meets the high demands of the Montreal GM.

However, considering Cam Talbot's recent underperformance, acquiring an experienced goaltender like Jake Allen could certainly benefit the California team in the playoffs.

Allen, a Stanley Cup winner, has played over 400 games in the NHL, compiling a record of 188 wins, 158 losses, and 40 overtime losses, with a 2.73 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.
