Canadiens Insider Reveals Major Information on the Offer for Arber Xhekaj
Recently, on TVA Sports, journalist Renaud Lavoie commented on a subject that has been causing a lot of buzz over the last few days, concerning a potential offer that the Montreal Canadiens received for the services of Arber Xhekaj.
Renowned NHL insider David Pagnotta had claimed the following regarding a trade declined by Kent Hughes.
"Not only have teams called the Montreal Canadiens about robust defenseman Arber Xhekaj, but some have also presented concrete offers.
In fact, it is learned that the Tricolore received an offer for a young NHL forward, a former first-round pick, with second-line potential. Montreal refused." - David Pagnotta
Very quickly, taking this information and putting into context some elements circulating throughout the league, it was unofficially identified that this team could be the Philadelphia Flyers, and the player offered was possibly forward Morgan Frost.
Elliotte Friedman, another well-connected journalist, had stated that the Flyers had seriously shown interest in the defenseman. He mentioned that if a trade occurred, he would not be surprised if it was with Philadelphia.
In light of this context that combines information from several well-placed sources in the league, Renaud Lavoie has just contradicted it all.
Here's what he stated on TVA Sports:
"Lavoie on TVA Sports advises people not to listen to the most recent trade rumor involving Arber Xhekaj (about the exceptional 1vs1 offer)." - Marc Dumont
Lavoie directly contradicted Pagnotta's statements.
Frankly, at this point, it's about believing the person you find most credible, but I tend to lean more towards Pagnotta, who has a much larger network of connections than Lavoie.
Moreover, he has already revealed numerous exclusives, while the Quebecer mostly reports information that is already circulating.
