Tributes are pouring in from all corners following the sad announcement of Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau's deaths.

They were fatally struck by a drunk driver who performed an extremely dangerous maneuver while attempting to overtake another vehicle.
In an interview with the excellent Tony Marinario at BPM Sports, the longtime coach of the Boston College program paid tribute to these two former players.
Johnny and Matthew were trained by Jerry York during their NCAA years.
«Johnny was always smiling when he arrived at the rink. Every day. With his talent, he made everything look easy.

His father ran a rink in New Jersey, and both had excellent skating skills.

To train Johnny and Matthew, their father would scatter 'Skittles' on the ice, and they had to quickly go retrieve them. Then, they would shoot more 'Skittles.' This practice helped improve their speed and change of direction.»

The NCAA program's esteemed coach also noted that he had the privilege of coaching two very special players: Brian Gionta, former Canadiens captain, and Johnny Gaudreau.
