The Las Vegas Golden Knights once again attempted to circumvent the regulations this season. However, the outcome was not the same this year.
After winning the Stanley Cup last year, the Golden Knights had a more challenging regular season before acquiring several players at the trade deadline.
These transactions became possible after placing two players, including Mark Stone, on the long-term injured list.
At the start of the playoffs, the Knights brought back Mark Stone, as they did in the previous three seasons.
Despite leading the series 2-0 against the Stars, the Golden Knights were unable to secure the victory and were eliminated in the first round by the Dallas Stars.
It seems to be a fair turn of events for this franchise, which has repeatedly sought to circumvent salary cap regulations by trading all of its draft picks and prospects for established players.
Perhaps the current model of the Golden Knights will be questioned by management...
