Throughout the summer, the scandal involving Team Canada in 2018 garnered significant attention. Renowned sources in the hockey world had anticipated an official verdict by the start of the 2023-2024 regular season.

However, it's now December, and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has not yet made a decision regarding the five players involved in this case. While not surprising, fans are growing increasingly impatient, and there's a pressing need for a resolution.
Gary Bettman, addressing the issue following the governors' meeting yesterday afternoon, mentioned that the NHL is continuing its investigation process, which has been delayed by various circumstances.
"The process is ongoing, and we are trying to reach a conclusion in this matter. It's complicated. It hasn't been easy for a variety of reasons, but we continue to move the process forward." - Gary Bettman

This situation raises questions about when, or even if, any sanctions will be imposed. Bettman is facing criticism for his apparent reluctance to make an official decision.
Clearly, this case is far from closed. Patience will be necessary before the NHL finally decides to impose sanctions on the five players allegedly involved in this deeply troubling scandal.
