Yesterday was a special game for Marc-André Fleury. The Quebecois goaltender achieved a major milestone by playing in his 1000th career game, a feat very uncommon for a goaltender.
Although it was unfortunately a 3-2 loss for the Minnesota Wild against the Winnipeg Jets, there was a magical moment before the game with a very special video featuring three NHL legends: Martin Brodeur, Roberto Luongo, and Patrick Roy.
In addition to this prestigious milestone of his 1000th start, Fleury is just one career victory away from tying Patrick Roy's number.
« I wanted to take this moment to congratulate you on your 1000th career game. It's a long road, so you can be really proud of yourself. I have always admired when you jump on the ice, watching you train with your teammates, play games, challenge your teammates/opponents, and the joy you have on the ice. » - Patrick Roy
It's absolutely incredible to realize that the four most prolific goaltenders in NHL history are all Quebecois. It's a great source of pride for Quebec.
