Kirby Dach's Return Timeline Has Officially Been Revealed
Yesterday, the Montreal Canadiens released a statement to officially confirm that Kirby Dach underwent surgery on his right knee.
The organization also mentioned that everything went smoothly, indicating that the Tricolore forward should be recovered 100% for the start of the 2024-2025 season.
The surgery was done! Thank you all for your support over the past few weeks. The road to recovery starts now! - Kirby Dach
Furthermore, during his appearance on the "JiC" show on TVA Sports, Renaud Lavoie relayed major information regarding the convalescence period for number 77.
Indeed, Dr. Robert Marx, who also performed Christian Dvorak's surgery last summer, agreed to take care of Kirby Dach on the condition that he does not return to play before eight months.
Renaud Lavoie still made it clear that this is about a full return to play, and not just training. He added that it would not be surprising to see the 22-year-old back on the ice by February or March.
This doctor has seen athletes return to play after six or seven months too often. It caused other problems. The player would end up injuring a hip or groin.
So, don't be startled if Dach hits the ice sometime in February.- Renaud Lavoie
Although his return to training is likely to raise some questions regarding a possible return to action, Kirby Dach will not be back in the game this season, unless the Montreal Canadiens surprise everyone and reach the semi-final or the Stanley Cup final.
He needs to rebuild strength around his knee. Don't expect a return to play unless the CH is in the semi-final or Stanley Cup final.
One thing is for sure, we are very happy to learn that the forward has been operated on successfully. We very much hope that the rehabilitation will go as planned and that he will be able to return strongly for the start of the next season!
