Is Ivan Demidov's descent a good news or a trap for the Canadiens?

It's no secret. Since the Combine last week, Ivan Demidov's reputation seems to have somewhat declined, with some scouts and teams stating they would hesitate to draft him in the top 5.

Since then, it appears the forward has been sliding in mock drafts. Ivan Demidov could therefore fall in the first round of the annual draft at the end of the month, but by how much?

Is this good news or some kind of trap for the Montreal Canadiens, who will step onto the stage in Las Vegas for their first pick at 5th overall?

"Montreal Hockey Now" journalist Marco d'Amico rightly discussed this point during an interview with host Maxime Van Houtte on BPM Sports this noon:

The point is interesting, and regardless of what may be said about Demidov's caliber and contractual situation in Russia, the gamble is worth it for the Montreal Canadiens.
