In July, the Washington Capitals are expected to acquire the CapFriendly website, according to multiple sources and Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

The Capitals and CapFriendly intend for the site to remain accessible to the public and operate independently until the 2024 NHL Draft and the beginning of free agency.
The sale is not expected to be official until July 5 at the earliest. Neither the team nor CapFriendly representatives have commented on the matter.
Dominik Zrim, co-owner and director of the site, has previous NHL experience with Chicago and San Jose.
CapFriendly, established in 2015 after the closure of CapGeek, has become a trusted substitute for fans and media following the death of CapGeek's creator, Matthew Wuest, in 2015.
