Marc-Olivier Beaudoin, analyst, recently mentioned Matt Martin as a possible acquisition for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.
On X, Beaudoin raised the idea of replacing Michael Pezzetta on the fourth line with Martin, noting that Martin currently doesn't have a contract for the upcoming season.
Martin, 35 years old, stands at 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds. Known for his toughness and physical play with the New York Islanders, he tallied 8 points in 57 games last season and 19 points in 81 games prior to that.
His playoff experience and reputation as a tough opponent could bring a valuable dimension to the Montreal team, especially considering a potential salary of less than 1 million dollars for the season.
